BLOG NUMBER 5

i chose to watch the red rain video. lighting up the stage with the color red really made people get into the song more . the visual elements we saw really helped. it kept me watching the whole time. Also at the start of the song there were all those different bright colors flashing all over the audience. im sure that it gave the viewers a more enjoyable experience. Also the round thing that was flashing the light onto the stage made me think of mars right from the start.

Ethics

I think that certain kinds of comic strips that are shown have ethical issues. An example would be the Boondocks is a controversial comic strip. It deals with African American Culture and American politics.the inventor of the strip, he pushes the the envelope to a certain degree that while in production some newspapers did not publish the comic strip. I for the first time saw an episode and Alec wasn't kidding when he say they throw around the "N" word likes its everyday vocab. it also dealt with racial stereotypes. this is just one example but there are many more like editorial comic strips that make fun of political figures and what not.

Blog 3

I see PowerPoint in every class except my math class. So i see it being used on a daily basis. My experience with PowerPoint is ok. I used it in high school and a couple of times in college. I find it to be easy to use but get bored with it easy. In my opinion a good PowerPoint is one that is forward, direct, and goes along with what the speaker is talking about.Some things i think all creators should stay away from when using PowerPoint to not make take away attention from the speaker and to not fill each slide with so much information.

A concept that interested me in chapter 4 was the figure ground relationship. This is an image i found that is figure ground relationship. the figure is what you notice first and background is everything els.

Visual Essay

For my visual essay i was thinking about doing the photo and perspective one. I have never done any of the other options or this one so it is all pretty much new to me. It sounds like it would be fun to do and if it is a challenge, im up for it.
